Overview of GH3039:

GH3039 is a single-phase austenitic solid solution strengthened alloy with moderate thermal strength and good thermal fatigue resistance below 800°C, as well as excellent oxidation resistance below 1000°C. It exhibits stable microstructure during long-term use, along with good cold formability and weldability. It is suitable for long-term use in aircraft engine combustion chambers and afterburner components operating below 850°C. This alloy can be produced in the form of plates, bars, wires, tubes, and forgings.

Laser Shock Study of GH3039:

As a solid solution strengthened nickel-based alloy, GH3039 high-temperature alloy offers high-temperature resistance, corrosion resistance, and good formability, making it commonly used for manufacturing hot-section components of aircraft engines. Since aircraft engine parts often operate in high-temperature and high-pressure environments and are subjected to alternating loads, especially with the continuous increase in thrust-to-weight ratio, improving the reliability and extending the service life of key components in aircraft engines hold significant social value.

Using GH3039 high-temperature alloy as the research subject, laser shock processing technology was applied for surface modification. The study found that laser shock treatment increased both the surface microhardness and surface roughness of the alloy, significantly altered the residual stress state within the metal, and improved the surface integrity of the alloy. Compared to the base material, the grains of the laser-shocked samples were noticeably refined, but as the number of shocks increased, the degree of grain refinement in GH3039 weakened. Under different numbers of laser shocks, no new phases were formed or phase transformations occurred in GH3039. As the number of shocks increased, the diffraction peak intensity decreased, and the full width at half maximum significantly increased, which is attributed to grain refinement and increased microstrain.

Various specifications of plates, bars, strips, wires, discs, ring blanks, and ring forgings are available. Bars are supplied in forged-rolled condition, surface polished or turned; discs and ring blanks are supplied in forged condition; rings are supplied in solution-treated condition; plates are supplied after solution treatment, alkali-acid pickling, straightening, and edge trimming; strips are delivered after cold rolling, solution treatment, and descaling; wires are supplied in solution-pickled coil or straight form, or in solution-treated straight fine-polished condition.
